M&S set to freeze price of school uniform for a third year

// M&S is freezing the prices of its market-leading school uniform for the third year running
// The retailer is also set to bring back its 20% off school uniform deal for early bird shoppers

M&S is holding the price of its school uniform for the third year in a row.

The retailer is freezing the price for its school uniform under its “commitment to protecting value on the products that matter most to customers”.

It has also confirmed the return of its 20% off school uniform deal for its early bird shoppers, for a limited time. It comes as parents prepare to send their children back to school after half term.

Consumers ranked M&S school uniform as number 1 in terms of value for money on the market research company, YouGov.

M&S kidswear director Alexandra Dimitriu said: “School uniform is an essential purchase for millions of families and now more than ever, parents are prioritising value when it comes to making purchasing decisions.

“We believe that a great price shouldn’t come at the expense of great quality and by continuing to protect prices, we’re ensuring affordable school uniform – that also passes the hand-me-down test – is accessible to all families this back-to-school season.”

Meanwhile, M&S will sell products from third-party brand partners Smiggle and Hype in more than 100 of its UK stores, to provide parents with a one-stop-shop for back to school purchases.

M&S is not the only retailer freezing its prices, despite shopping costs continuing to soar.

Back in February, Tesco added 50 own-label lines to its Aldi price-match campaign.

In January, Iceland also extended its £1 price freeze by another year across hundreds of its frozen goods.
